Four Leave The Hawthorns
West Bromwich Albion have confirmed that Tyler Roberts has made a permanent switch out to Leeds United and three other players have embarked on loan spells.
With one first team appearance under his name at West Brom, Roberts makes the permanent switch out to Elland Road for an undisclosed fee and the player was out of contract next summer.
Technical Director Nick Hammond told wba.co.uk that having been unable to persuade the youngster to sign a new extension, it seemed the logical choice.
'We certainly didn`t want to lose one of our bright Academy prospects but Tyler and his representatives made it very clear he wanted to join Leeds. We have been actively trying to agree a new contract with him for a period of time but have been unable to do so. He is a fantastic young man who feels that for his future he wants to make a permanent move now and start playing regularly. Leeds United made us an exceptionally good offer and importantly we have also secured excellent protection further down the line if Tyler reaches his undoubted potential. We wish him and his family well going forward.'
Defender Kyle Howkins has also departed and the 21 year old will spend the rest of the campaign out with Port Vale. Last season he made 20 appearances for Mansfield Town out in League Two.
19 year old left back Max Melbourne has headed to Ross County on a loan spell as well.
Finally, 19 year old goalkeeper Jasko Keranovic has headed to Kilmarnock and joins us with former Baggies gaffer Steve Clarke.
