Rodriguez Feels Sharp Ahead Of Bournemouth

Summer signing Jay Rodriguez has said he feels sharp ahead of the Premier League kick off against Bournemouth this weekend.

Welcoming Eddie Howe's side to The Hawthorns for the big kick off, Rodriguez found himself in front of the media yesterday as preparation for the game began and speaking to wba.co.uk he told the press that he was relishing the first competitive game of the campaign and he felt ready to hit the ground running.

Rodriguez has already scored twice for West Brom following his arrival from Southampton in pre season friendlies against Leicester City and Burton Albion and he'd love to get his first real goal for the club this weekend to get him off the mark officially.

'I can't wait now. I feel fit. I feel strong. I feel sharp. It's been tough but everything's gone well in pre-season so I'm looking forward to getting started.'

With injury troubles hitting at Southampton, he was obviously hoping for an injury free year at Albion and whilst he wouldn't admit what it was, he did reveal he has a goal target in mind for his maiden year.

'I set myself personal targets but it's also about taking each game as it comes and trying to do your best every time. The main thing for me is a goal tally and scoring as many as I can. I've got a figure in mind.'

Adding.

'It's going to be a good day on Saturday and hopefully I can get on the scoresheet. It's important to get that first win and build momentum for the season.'
